Aerial Views - Sunday Stamps II

This is yet another theme that proved harder than I thought. 

So much so, in fact, that initially I could only come up with these - not really true aerial shots at all.

USA - Jet Liner over Capitol - 5 December 1962

And from Poland a stamp commemorating the development of air travel.

I googled aerial views and found that of the many stamp images I had only one in my collection and that from 1969.

I shall have to study what others have posted this week at Sunday-stamps-II-134. to see whether there are different stamps that I could/should have posted.

Flying - Sunday Stamps II

I wondered when I would get the chance to post from both the DDR (East Germany) and West Germany at the same time. Today's the day with this 'Flying' theme.

DDR - Airmail -13 December 1957

And from the West a more colourful helicopter in an industry and technical series.

West Germany - 15 May 1975

For an earlier Airmail we have to fly over the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.

China - 1 May 1951

The temple complex was constructed in the 1400s; it became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. another one I will not get to see.

Now take off and get flying not forgetting to change planes at the links on Sunday-Stamps-II-119.

Transportation - Thematic Photography

Transportation is such a broad them I don't know where to start. When visiting offshore oil and gas platforms I got used to helicopter rides. However this one was much more fun.

But while I was in Monaco I wanted a ride on the family yacht.

Back in the 1980s the Tall Ships came to Stavanger, this was the first ship to arrive.

I suppose transportation wouldn't be complete without a car or two. This one is quite humble but has an interesting name.

Winston was owned by an English girl in Germany. Now she lives in the USA and drives a German car.
