Stuff That Grows - Thematic Photography

I've been looking for a theme for the A-Z Challenge for 2016 and have been considering wild flowers. This means that recently I have been out and about photographing a few things that grow.

Here's just a selection.

Exposed tree roots.
If you look closely you should be able to identify a few hidden faces.

In April I came across some Lords and Ladies

The Lords and Ladies go under a number of interesting names such as the cuckoopint, jack in the pulpit, Adam and Eve bobbins and even naked boys. These names relate to the plants likeness to male and female genitalia as you might see from these later photos.

Unfortunately these have now been cut off in their prime by the local council's grass cutter so I shall have to look for others that are in flower and wait until around July for their red berries to develop.

Another plant that will escape the grass cutters attention is this fine specimen.

Hogweed

It doesn't seem nearly 70 years since I use the stem of a plant like this for a peashooter!

However I should be able to say exactly how long it took for this 'stuff'

to grow into this!

Meanwhile I'll have to cut the green stuff that grows in our garden myself.

For other stuff inspired by Carmi just visit Thematic-photographic-336 and also share some of your own.

Ah, so now we have a clue about your A to Z next year. Unfamiliar with all those plants, but can certainly see a few faces in those roots.

Delightful! I love how you got your kids into the mix, too. They clearly learned from the best, and turned out wonderfully thanks to your nurturing.

Thank you for jumping right back into Thematic. I've missed it, and look forward to more shared adventures through the lens.

Oh my goodness, love your before and after family photos! Adorable and the best stuff that we parents grow! That first photo with the tree stump is very magical in all it's twisted glory too! I see more than just faces too. I like your other greenery that I'm not sure I've seen before, very interesting.

Is that an oak tree with the gnarled roots? And I haven't seen cuckoo pint since we moved up here - had a lot of it in the woods where we lived before. Very poisonous berries!

Great family - They do grow so quickly don't they? :(

I shall have to go back and check the tree Gilly as I have been having a senior moment as to what it was.
