Food from the earth - Thematic Photography

Carmi's 'Food from the earth'  theme sparked a discussion as to what counted. I tried to keep the food to that which grows straight out of the ground, and excluded items that grow on plants, bushes and trees.

Here's what I found in the kitchen.

Vegetable selection
The same lot photographed from above, with me standing on a chair.

Clockwise from the top - cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, onions. potato, spring onions, pepper, leek, potato, carrots, courgettes (zucchini) mushrooms.

But the most photogenic was the -

Broccoli
Now I have to wait and see what gets cooked for our meal tonight.

For other choice food go to the check out at Carmi's Thematic-photographic-316.

it all looks yummy and colourful Bob. Did you mean to put it on the Sepia Saturday page too? I’ve often done the reverse :)

Don't broccoli and zucchini grow on a bushy plant?

That is a well stocked kitchen. Next thing we know you'll be doing an Arcimboldo !

Broccoli is a plant in the cabbage family whose head becomes the vegetable. Zucchini is a squash, which I thought grows from a ground flower. The pepper is the one I had the most doubt about.

Veggies are so colourful and yes Ms. Brocoli is very photogenic.

I had broccoli, but I was only going with kitchen items from under the ground. Except for the onion, which I forgot. And I have garlic somewhere, but I forgot that, too.

Those are some good looking veggies.

Well, everything ultimately comes from the earth - unless you are growing things in a tub of water! Nice shots - be careful standing on that chair!

Great photos. Would a bag of frozen chips count?

These are just perfect Bob. Funny thing they resemble exactly like the goodies I threw together (with a few other items) for a salad just yesterday! Yummy, it all was, but I ate it before I snapped it!

@ boundfor oz - I've just discovered who Arcimboldo was.

@Alan - You must be a chips with everything type of guy.
