India and the Soviet Union signed a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 1971. A stamp commemorated this friendship in 1976.
South Africa has many superb animal stamps. You could say that the Springbok is iconic too.

I love the stamps, except for the so-called cancellation on the first. Ugh!
Sometimes small details, like on the second stamp, make really great illustrations on stamps.
I love those horses, what a beautiful little scene.
Who would dare put a penned X on that stamp?!!
I would not have thought of the second one as a ceiling painting... curious, I had to find out more. What an amazing church!
