I've tried to keep on the straight and narrow to meet this week's theme and started off in a modern art direction.

Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art |
Where it was the building itself that caught my eye with its mixture of straight lines.
During the Queen's Diamond Jubilee last year she opened the revamped white water rafting site on the River Tees at Stockton; I didn't manage to get a ticket for the event but later obtained a shot along a footpath in front of the Talpore pub.

Union Jack Flagpoles | | | |
I don't have a flagpole at home so this songbird has to make do with this:-
|
"If I were a blackbird, I'd whistle and sing" |
Meanwhile my daughter's dogs looked out in hope.

I love the modern art, and the blackbird on the TV aerial great shots! And the dogs look very wistful - didn't you take them out??
Hi Bob
Don't stop to leave comments often...forgive me *smile*
Your Union Jacks provoked a memory of a neat photo I took on the campus of USF a year or so ago...about twenty flags bristling in the breeze.
My photography is journey oriented, not theme...but I have one theme I have got to do while I'm visiting here on the border.
I have got to capture the unique style of the tiny little 'casa-houses' here, with their arches, angles, and punch you in the eye color.
Have a great day
- Mac
I like the Modern Art bldg, clean, crisp, cool. And of course any photo with dogs always tugs at my heart strings!
I really like the bird on the antenna.
@Gilly - The dogs were wistful because I was outside and they weren't at the time.
@R Mac - good to see you here; you probably haven't noticed me returning the compliment either but I do check out all your photo posts.
That's a great pic of Sam and Maxie, Bob.

Dogs win every time! And the bird on the aerial is really appealing.
Oh for sure, your daughter's dogs win again! But you did a marvelous job of staying true to the straight and narrow! Especially so!
Dogs get me every time. They're so lovely! Whose heart wouldn't melt just a little upon seeing those sweet faces?
