Carmi set us a theme this week that I thought I would be unable to match until I remembered that Yarm, voted by the BBC to have the best High Street in England a few years back, had a greengrocer's shop. Mind you it now has to compete with three supermarkets all within easy reach.
The shopkeeper was most surprised when I asked his permission to take photos inside his shop. So take your pick - there's no chance take you cannot meet the recommended five a day if you buy your vegetables here.

Great photos. I really wish that our greengrocer's shelves looked like that. It is really beautiful.
Not to talk badly of anyone or anything but if I buy my vegetables they only last up to two days in the refrigerator and then I have to throw them out.
That's a great selection :)
That seems very healthy, I agree! I prefer natural vegetables.
There is just nothing better than a good greengrocer, I think. I would happily eat 10 a day with a choice like that.
Oh nicely done. I hope he was flattered. I’m so pleased you got your greengrocer’s apostrophe in the right place too :)
Wow what an amazing way to go shopping...I just envy those baskets! Even our co-op stores aren't that homey like! I do in fact fancy those brussel sprouts too...yummy! What a delightful look into your vegetable shopping, very cool Bob!
After seeing veg like that, would you want to go back to a supermarket with limp lettuce, hard tomatoes and unripe fruit?
I'm deeply impressed that you asked permission. I never have, and that's probably why I've gotten challenged more often than I care to count. You're just way more polite than I will ever be :)
Delightful views...I love how different stores in different parts of the world seem to take on their own tone.
Carmi, I asked for permission because I had to go into the shop to take the photos - he only had flowers outside.
