Dogs and Horses - Sunday Stamps

I chose dogs as my stamps for this week, but I've been stamping my foot over this post. My set of dogs was on the same page as another set of stamps. When I came to scan them my scanner decided it would only scan one stamp at a time and cut off all the edges.

So I tried it with some horses instead with no trouble as you can see.

Great Britain - Horses set from 1978
Two hours later I succeeded with the dogs, but only after I had removed them from the album and put them in the wrong order in a presentation set holder. By this time I was champing at the bit to get this post uploaded.

Dogs from the four corners of the British Isles

This reminds me so much of the wonderful cigarette cards we used to collect in childhood. My favourites were the trees and wild flowers. Brings back such memories and we never associated them with smoking.

I remember these two sets from the late 1970s. I recall my favourites of these two sets were the Shire Horse and the Dulux dog!

Looks like it's the "dog days of August."

We have come to the conclusion in this house that scanners have minds of their own. As we need to use them so much for our blogs they do have the upper hand somewhat. When growls and curses are heard from the study from one of us, the other has no need to ask what the problem is.

I had the horses as PHQ cards but I think they are all gone now. They were very popular! I don't remember the dogs at all. I didn't know springer spaniels were Welsh but by a process of elimination, I suppose they must be.

I am glad you scanned the horses, because I like them more than the dogs :)
