A-Z 2021 = Photo Shoot - H: Heron

It's not often that that you get a bird that seems to pose just for you. More often you get one by chance like this one at Lake Orion, Michigan.

It was so well hidden that we nearly didn't see it at all.

However Harry, the heron is the poser and stands for hours at this small lake on my daughter's property.

A-Z Challenge 2021 - Photo Shoot - G: George, Golf, Geese

It these days of throw-away culture I still wonder what litter lout abandoned -

We frequently see geese flying over our village, but they never land.

Just up the road from my daughter's home in Michigan it's a different story.

When it comes to golf I'm spoilt for choice so I will stay at the Homestead on Lake Michigan - the freshwater resort.

I nearly forgot to add a shot that could have been in 'F' but falls here as well.

A-Z Challenge 2021 - Photo Shoot: F - Finn, Ferryside, Frog

If you had met Finn you would enjoy taking him for a walk -

You might need stronger arms however.

If you visit Cornwall, Fowey is the place to visit and there you can see the house in which Dapne du Maurier wrote her first novel - The Loving Spirit.

Ferryside

The house next door to us has a pond and I just wonder whether what I find in our garden migrates from there.

It's not shy at all.

A-Z Challenge 2021 - Photo Shoot: E - Eden Project, Evening Skies, Effy

There are some plants that create quite a stink and only flower once a year. We caught one at the Eden Project in Cornwall a few years ago.

The Titan Arum

Its sometimes called the corpse flower because of it pong. Thank goodness you can escape the smell in the choice of which biome you choose.

A much more pleasant aroma emanates from a newborn child.

Effy - our first great grandchild's early hours

Where we live it's possible to sit and watch the sun go down and on occasions admit the evening skies.

What better view than that?

A-Z Challenge 2021 - Photo Shoot: D - Deer, Ducks, Denmark

It's not just in Britain that ducks abound.

On the Clinton River in Rochester, Michigan

They know where the picnic tables are!

When we are in Michigan I do not have to look far for deer.

I have delivered lots of training courses in Denmark and could not miss this in Copenhagen.

A-Z Challenge 2021 - Photo Shoot: C - Chipmunk, Chameleon, Cody

Taking pictures at a zoo in Newquay gave me the opportunity to catch a chameleon under a light and to see it change colour.

Much more difficult to catch was this little fellow who was always on the move in Michigan.

Chipmunk

It just wouldn't stay sideways so that we could see its stripes.

However my favourite retriever was only too pleased to sit in the shade when he had finished playing with his ball.

Cody
He liked to sleep on the mat next to our bed when we stayed at his home. The only problem was he snored so loudly that we could not sleep. He had to drag him on the mat to get him outside the room.

Nevertheless for a long time he could been seen as the wallpaper on my computer engrossed in a favourite pastime.
