Renewable Energy - Sepia Saturday

Just recently news was made by the UK having a day when no power was generated by coal. Solar and wind energy were in charge.

But sometimes don't you just wish that

the wind did not blow so hard!

Is this what Sepia Saturday 365 was looking for?

Hi Bob - probably ... oh broken washing lines are such a nuisance ... hope with your magic skills the contraption is up and running very soon!

Cheers Hilary

A Problem For Me Too Bob! And My Rotatory-Drier often suffers the same fate from Yorkshire winds!

I used to wish I had one of those clothesline contraptions instead of lines strung between trees because it would take up so much less space. I never got one and now I never hang the clothes outside at this house. Just use the dryer. I liked hanging them out.

Living in an apartment all my drying is done by machine. I am very much in favour of using renewable energy. The asparagus farm I go to had a field which had to lie fallow for 20 years and he wanted to put up solar panels but the short sighted local council wouldn't let him do it.

I had a neighbor who had one of those contraptions...she used an electric clothes dryer; she tied the dog to that silly laundry line, and he walked around and around!

Goodness me, that must have been a very strong wind! Would that perhaps be a removable line rather than one firmly anchored in concrete? It's blown away like an umbrella.

Great to hear about the day without coal generated power...hope the message gets across to the US!

Aye, it's an ill wind that blows no good. Coal fired dryers never have that problem.

Wow! We've had some pretty good winds lately, but not quite THAT good!

Bob, you show it just needs one photograph to create a great post that fits the prompt!
