Green - Sunday Stamps II

I could not resist posting the green trees that appeared on the postcard Maria sent to me.

Singapore - 26 May 2010
Adenanthera pavonia ( Red-bead tree) on the left;  Pterocarpus indicus, the national tree of the Philippines, (also known as Amboyna Wood, Burmese Rosewood and Red Sandal Wood) on the right,

Hi Bob - it's lovely to see cultural things on stamps - interesting as one learns a little about the country too ... loved seeing these - cheers Hilary

Those stamps are gorgeous. Love the selvage, too.

I like the shape of the Angsana. Nice to see the trees in full leaf as the first leaves start to make an appearance here.

Fine specimens! I like that you can also see the tree limbs so clearly.

Lovely stamps and lovely green. Wish our trees looked like that, maybe some time this month.

Very nice stamps. My husband and I bought rosewood furniture while living in Malaysia one year. The wood is a reddish-brown and quite beautiful. We traveled to Singapore often.
