L - Lyme Hall
Lyme Hall in Cheshire was originally a hunting lodge. A house was built there in Tudor time which was turned into an Italiante palace in the early 18th Century.
Once the home of the Legh family it has become 'Pemberley' in the BBC's production of Pride and Prejudice'.
It is now managed by the National Trust,

Cheshire? Pemberley is set in the Lake District so I naively assumed the house was also in the Lake District.
I was born in Cheshire but never saw this house, what a pity.
I wish I would one day be able to tour one of the castle like houses you are sharing.
