really love this set, and the additional photos for a greater view :)
I like the dramatic skyline on the 1.50 stamp. Spain looks the ideal country to go castle hunting, especially with those beautiful blue skies.
A wonderful selection, I hadn't seen any of these before.
As I'm from Spain, I remember well this series of stamps.
Yes: there are A LOT of castles in Spain!
The Spanish have turned a lot of their castles into hotels and/or restaurants. There is a name for them which escapes me. I think its a wonderful idea and as they are government run, they are mostly not too expensive. Love the pix and the stamps.
@Jo
I suppose you mean the "paradores". But there aren't a lot. There are great differences between "paradores"; some of them are luxurious and yes, expensive! But I think they offer great quality.
I am always awestruck by the immense scale of these old castles! The Almansa one looks like it was carved out of the rock.
Really nice! I appreciate you taking the time to post photos of the castles in their natural sorroundings, I appreciate them more!
Love the stamps altogether, would love to visit Almansa, which appears to grow out of the rock. thank you for participating!
wow! what a beautiful set you have here! I hope to get some of those.
