Trunk Call - Sepia Saturday

They say an elephant never forgets. I'm sure the children in this week's picture will not forget their encounter with this elephant.

Elephant (calendar picture)
He looks as though he is searching for something in the tree tops. My memory is not so good as it used to be so I had to search my files from 2006.

Belgium isn't a country that you would associate with elephants. However on the coast at De Panne you just might get a surprise.

If all that sea and sand makes you thirsty beware of drinking too much alcohol, you just might start seeing:

You may think that this post should be disposed of because its cost, in your time, is out of proportion to its worth - it's a white elephant in fact.

White Elephant - 1855
Watercolour with pen and ink of the “Lord White Elephant”, a rare and auspicious white elephant kept by the King at Amarapura.

Just to remind you that it's a jungle out there and other animals find elephants a bit of a yawn - here's a different fellow.

But now I guess it's time for you all to march off:

to take a look at other elephants at Sepia-saturday-133

I knew you’d give us another amusing take on this Bob. The pink elephant is wonderful and I supect Photoshop! Googling for images I also came across several topiary elephants, some in Regents Park. They get everywhere.

An interesting theme again Bob!

The elephant is a big fellow, yet so kind:)

Actually that isn't true Mattias, elephants can be extremely dangerous. I sitll love to see them and it was great to see the Dawn Patrol from The Jungle Book. Thanks Bob.

Love the addition of the pink elephant. Photoshop?

I remember when I went to my first "white elephant" sale at a school carnival, I thought the name was hilarious. There weren't any white or pink elephants there, but I still remember buying some pink shoes for 10¢ and being really impressed with my bargain.

Not modified by me Sharon, but it was doctored.

Bob you always know how to brighten a person's day! You have posted the extreme elephant post of marvel right before all eyes...love their little stroll into the water...as if they really stroll, (of course they do!) ... and if only I could spot an elephant in a field nearby! Great title too...

I tried to see if the rocks looked the same in my Detroit zoo elephant photo but I guess it's from a different angle.

That's what I call different interpretations of the same topic.

You were voted the one most likely to post a pink elephant. Enjoyed the laughs and the video.

Bob, I think that I say this every week, but you really do crack me up! Not only do you come up with the pictures and thread them all together in a wonderful way, but you also do it with such a dry sense of humor. Thanks for another wonder SS post!

Oh I loved that. That is one of mine and HH's favorite movies. We used to watch it with our grands. Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods. Ky may soon disappear form spontaneous combustion if we don't have some rain soon. Tom and I have an old 8 track tape player in the garage and we dance out there sometimes. I told him today we are scheduling a rain dance for tonight. Say with some Bob Seger.

My particular favourite is the picture of elephants on de Panne beach. What an improvement to a beach I remember as particularly bleak. Maybe it was the time of year. Summer.

Albino elephants do exist but I've never seen one myself. I try to avoid seeing pink elephants ...
