There is no problem with my first stamp as it tells me what it is.
USA |
This stamp was issued in 1966 to publicise the largely undivided highway following the Mississippi River from New Orleans to Ontario, Canada.
My second stamp is the one I know nothing about. I don't remember when I acquired it but it has obvious been soaked off an envelope. It has no distinguishing features that I can see which allow me to identify where it is from.
I don't even know whether I have presented this the right way up.
I hope you will be able to help me identify which country issued it.
Meanwhile for less mysterious stamps please pop over to Viridian's sunday-stamps-78
I've just realised that this is my 400th post so help me celebrate by solving my query.

Your second stamp: there is no country name, so I wonder if it is a Cinderella - maybe issued for Christmas??
Looking at the Rand McNally maps of the USA states, you can see the great river road marked.
Thank you for participating!
Happy 400th! I'd love to be able to help you but I haven't a clue. like you, I found it hard to find many yellow stamps.
Thanks for reminding me to add my link to Viridian's blog. :)
Don't know that I have ever seen a yellow stamp before.
How very odd to issue a stamp without taking credit!
the one with the Mississippi is nice for showing the map.
Congratulations! I would love to travel that Mississippi road.
I will also guess that the last stamp is also a holiday stamp.Congrats with your 400th post, way to go!!!

I have thought that it would make a great trip to follow the Mississippi but never realised that there was a road that followed its route.
Can't help with the other stamp, maybe you have had mail from outer space and it is from the Confederation of Planets, could even be a worm hole for travel in the middle:-)
There is something about it which reminds me of a commemorative design done for an EU Presidency back in the 90s - Spain perhaps. I even think it might have been based on a design by Miro.
Congratulations....but I have no idea either.
