On a trip to Cornwall in April I had the opportunity to take a number of shots at the Lost Gardens of Heligan.

A photo of a former ruined building really shows its age in monochrome when the wall on which it hangs is cropped off.

Those garden tools look really old. Or is it just that the monochrome makes them look old?
There's something about the monochrome that makes the fall-apart-ancient type of thing look so much more decrepit! Love those shots, and look forward to more of Heligan. its a place I'd like to go to, but never will now!

Wow, I imagine that was quite the learning experience. I think monochrome often allows for things to stand out more. But either way I always enjoy photographs no matter black and white or color! They're all wonderful!
Once upon a time, those tools were the bomb! The cutting edge, if you will.
