Sunday Stamps - Mother and Children; Great Britain

The Queen addressed the nation at 9 pm on the 75th anniversary of VE last Friday at exactly the same time that her father (George VI) on VE Day in 1945.

It seemed appropriate for me to show these stamps today.

  • Princess Elizabeth with her father, George VI, 1930
  • Elizabeth II State Opening of Parliament 2012
  • The Queen with Prince Charles and Princess Anne 1952
These stamps were issued on 21 April 2016.

Three generations of a family on these stamps. These are beautiful pictures!

This Queen will never be known as the Queen Mum. This is a nice generational set.

These are great - so interesting that more than one person chose the British royal family this week.

I've never been so fond of the Queen stamps cos most often they are boring definitives, but these fall into the category of the ones that I actually like, esp. that last one!

I always enjoy historic photos. I wonder what they were looking at in the last one.

Hi Bob - it's good to see these ... the Queen always shines out in troubled times ... especially today. Stay safe and take care - Hilary
