Sunday Stamps - A-Z: 'F' Flags

On 6 August 2009 the USA Postal Service issue the flags of each State in a strip format. I have a coil of 50 stamps with 10 flags repeated 5 times.

I have only included 5 of the 10 as it proved very difficult to stop the coil from curling up before the scanner closed. However I think these are rather splendid.

For other 'F' themed stamps check out the links at  Sunday-stamps-f

I love that series of stamps, how interesting to have a roll. I can just imagine your battle with its curl.

These are a pain to scan, aren;t they?

I see some feathers and some fencing to add to F.

I always find flags on stamps interesting. More interesting that in real life, I'm afraid!
I have got two or three of this kind.

I must admit I am completely unfamiliar with state flags, but this looks like a very nice series.
I assume those are the state animals/birds but am confused as to why Maryland has a red winged blackbird on the stamp instead of a Baltimore oriole.
