Last Saturday the annual Kirkfest began with this year's scarecrow competition.
The winner was -
relaxing with a beer at the Crown Hotel.
Second was The Great Kirk Bake Off -
On the menu was Kirk strawgoneoff and Kirk levingeton mess.
In third place was a sentry at Kirklevington (Cottage) Castle.
And a British Bulldog gained a merit certificate.

Goodness thank you Bob these are always my favorite things to see! In fact as I've said in the past I have a few of my own scarecrows in various spots around my yard, but maybe it's time for me to put a little scene together too!
I remember Dad's Army, "they don't like it up 'em". These are fun aren't they. I can see why they chose these as winners.
A worthy winner! Scarecrow competitions are great fun.
