Folk/National Costumes - Sunday Stamps II

I need some help this week as I have some Bulgarian stamps that I have been unable to find any information about other than that they were issued in 1961

Bulgaria - 1961
I've searched for the names of the costumes show on the LHS of each stamp but haven't succeeded in finding out what they represent.

Bulgaria - 1961
I had more success with provincial costumes from Spain.

Spain 1968 - Huelva Provincial Costume
The city of Huelva, in the province of the same name in South-West Spain, has been inhabited since 3000BC.

Spain 1967
Burgos a city in Northern Spain is the historic capital of the province of Castille.

This is a post for Sunday Stamps II - 41 which you will find at See it on a postcard.

I am away from home this week so may not be able to comment on stamps posted by the other participants or submit the link to this post there. I'll get round to them as soon as I can.

You've reminded me I have some Spanish costume stamps somewhere but have gone with the country next door. I like how the costumes stand out from the white background
You are lucky enough to have the full set of Bulgarian stamps and according to the catalogue the set is called simply 'Provincial Costumes'. I have to reacquaint myself with the Cyrillic alphabet every time I holiday in Greece so happily I don't have to delve into my memory as the catalogue tells me 12s Kyustendil 16s Pleven 28s Sliven 45s Sofia 60s Rhodope and 80s Karnobat.

Really interesting collection - and fits with Heleen's observation that they are more regional than national.

I particularly like the costumes with the full skirts. I always thought full skirts were so much more feminine than pencil slim. They are all attractive though.

This series about folk costumes in Spain is the only one that they have issued, I think.
By the say, in one of the traditional costume in my village, men wear skirts too.

Beautiful stamps!
Personally I like the one from Huelva most, because I know the costume of the city of Murcia well, which is also in the south of Spain (be it in the east, circa 600 kms from Huelva), and the costumes look much alike - but also have slight differences.
Speaking about these stamps, I love all designs!

Heleen made a good point — I should have said 'regional' not national.
The Bulgarian ones are nice especially as they are also showing the women engaging in traditional activities.
