Signs of Humour - Thematic Photography

While on holiday in Cornwall recently I saw this sign:

No customers and not a camel in sight.

I've always been a fan of warning signs. This one I found in the late 1950s certainly amused me:

To see more selected for Carmi's sign theme please check out Writteninc.thematic-photographic 150 it will be worth your time.

Note: the town of Padstow is on the estuary of the River Camel.

Just the image of a camel water skiing makes me laugh. And the other one is hilarious too.

I'd like to think that most unauthorized access to groins would be prohibited...... :)

The picture of camels on skis that put in my head is priceless.

Very funny

You know what's hilarious about this... is that a groyne is yet another word for dyke (the breakwater, not the slang). I love this language.

Awesome.

Just to somewhat amend my previous comment... My little synonym joke was in regard to Carmi's recent post here, and I in no way meant any slander or offense to the young lady in the photo regardless of her sexual orientation.

No problem, Canadian Mark. There's another old English joke, "That's no lady, that's my wife." [Fortunately she does not read my blog!]

You still won't get me skiing even with a camel to escort me! Oh yes, and I've tagged you at my blog :-)
