Christmas and Pirates - Sunday Stamps

I think I've failed to come up with children's art on stamps. I decided in the end to settle on what might appeal to children starting with these Christmas stamps from Denmark (1969)

Staying in Scandinavia I found these two from Sweden (1978)

:
But knowing most kids at some time are hooked on pirates I've left my favourite to last:

You can read about this English pirate at: Mary_Read on wikipedia.

The Danish stamps look as though they could be children's art, but possibly just made to look that way. I agree, the pirate stamp is wonderful!

I think the Danish stamps look like children's art that has been cleaned up or redrawn by adults.

Wow, a woman pirate! Move over, Jack Sparrow, Mary Read is here. I think Hollywood should consider making a movie about her - girl power! I also love the children's drawings, aren't they cute?

Did Mary Read really look like Angela Jolie:-) The drawings would look nice on Christmas post.
