You could not describe me as musical in any way; I can't play an instrument or hold a tune, at school I was told to mime in the House Group during the annual music competition. Mind you there was a time when at children's parties I have had to join in 'The Music Man'.
I don't know what the couple at the piano in our prompt were playing/singing but I doubt it included 'pia-pia-piano'. However it did inspire me to find a 19th century piano player.

The young man is concentrating hard and is playing without music, unlike our prompt, but he does have some photos on the top of his piano.
There are music and flowers in my second photo of an American singer and piano player who died in 1939.

Apparently Lois perfected her singing and piano playing in her church choir.

I had to memorize pieces for piano recitals. I'm wondering now how I ever did that.
Hubby was a pianist and never played except from music. He is an affiliate of the LSM but today doesn't remember how to play at all.
I wonder if the piano playing lady wore that elegant outfit when playing at church.

I love playing the piano and though I can - sort of - play from music, I'm most comfortable playing 'by ear' and especially my own compositions. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember how they (my own compositions) go, though. Thank heaven I eventually learned how to write them down!
I am not a musical person, that is, I don't play a musical instrument, but I have been in choirs, (school and church) all my life, love to sing. I like the gown the lady is wearing, very chic.

I can't play the piano either. I often wish I could. Lack of sticking power on my part I'm afraid. I was offered the lessons but I preferred to be put on my bike.
Gosh, I'm flattered at the plug, Bob. These were good choices too. Alan didn't add the information on his theme photo but the woman was Julia Culp, a Dutch soprano who sang salon style recitals. I think your singer came from the same collection.
Told to mime? Oh dear, that is a bit sad! I don't have any musical ability either but just enjoy listening to others who do.
I wonder if Lois ever got her long flowing dress tied up with the pedals.

My son-in-law never learnt to play piano or read music but he can sit down and pick out a tune so easily. I'm always amazed.
I like the idea of a tribute to Mike B. Mr Music Man himself.
