Row Your Boat - Sepia Saturday

There is an old nursery rhyme called  'Row, Row, Row Your Boat.' Before I could match the theme

I had to find me a boat by searching the house. This is what I found.

Boats a plenty - one one the left, a single rower?
Try as I might I can hardly claim a rowing boat in the next picture along.

Beached!
Looking for a model answer all I could come up with was

A model yacht
I got quite excited when I enlarged the photo bomb.

Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge
So a old photo of the Transporter (and two tugs) has made it across to Michigan - but again not a rowing boat in sight.

I wonder whether I can claim a model rowing boat

Two oars - but a sail as well
In desperation I thought back to my time in Norway.

But the rower had abandoned ship!
I guess that's a hint for a landlubber like me to hand you over to other champion rowers at Sepia-saturday-193.

A nice effort for a landlubber. :)) I like your model boats - especially the row/sail boat with all its model paraphernalia!

Take a boat, lots of water and lots of sky and you always seem to get a photo that screams loneliness. Even that last photo, the one with the snow, does too.

Some beautiful model ships, did you make them?
And no wonder the rower abandoned ship - it was too cold - that is snow on the bank isn't it!?

Wonderful boats! Our son in law, the sailor, would love to visit you.

What great models.

Interesting shot, that last one, with the rowboat by the rocks; snow, snow, snow...I never think about rowing in winter...

I always wanted one of those model yachts; I'll just have to do with your model posts instead!

It sounds like you live in a boat house!

Jackie van Bergen - the models belong to my son-in-law. I shall have to ask him. We are staying with him and my daughter for a few weeks.
It is snow during a Norwegian winter.

Hp Bob .. good selection and so pleased your SIL enjoys his models ..

Love the photos and the 'desperation' to find some rowers!

You should be here this weekend - the Mayor's Thames Festival ... a spectacle of colour with 350 boats ... and 24,000 competitors ... I was going to visit Tower Bridge tomorrow - but thought I'd defer .. can't take the scrum!!

Should be an amazing site with the Thames and its marathon event .. I'm looking forward to seeing the report backs ...

Cheers and enjoy the rest of your visit - glad I reminded you of home in my latest post!! Hilary

Beautiful pictures - and I love those models too. I've always hankered after a model boat. The local trash and treasure shop tempts me....

Lovely pictures. I like the models too. There's something about a model boat.

You found so many boats in the house-- sea lovers, or just like models and pictures of boats? Whichever, it was a nice Sepian view.

Boats aplenty and that's pretty good for being away from home. Fancy taking passage on a ship for your return?

'Abandoned ship' made me smile; reminds me of those years teaching in a Marine academy where students would tease themselves by saying 'abandon ship' when they're in a hurry to have the class ended and rush to the next class.

I love to see a sailboat on our lake in Virginia, but I have no interest in riding one.

A great set of photographs. The first painting is so lovely and calming with the way the light shines on the water and the composition of the boats.

I so love that model boat with all its little accessories. It makes me think back to being a kid and getting excited during the summer rains because it meant that once the rain had stopped the street gutters would be running with water and a perfect place to sale my boats.

I think I would like your decor - ships and sailing boats around always seem to "be calming". (Har de har har)

Great boat picture choices, despite the lack of rowers you lament :-)

I take pictures of boat models as much as I can. Much easier! And they are just as interesting as real boats.
