Michigan Summer - Thematic Photography

The summer theme seemed to be an opportunity for me to include some shots from my recent trip to Michigan.

My daughter's dogs (well one of them) is intent on catching one of these at the edge of the lake in their grounds. Not that this fellow was at all concerned.

American Green Frog
On a summer's evening what could be better than a ride in one of these.

Hot Air Balloon

This one landed within 200 yards of the house and then took off again.

Up, up and away
Meanwhile the boats are waiting for a tow to a nearby lake.

Beached (or grassed)
With temperatures nearing 100F it was time for the dogs to be shampooed and trimmed leading to:

Cody (in bandanna) and Scout
Why do you smell so different now?

Even Lily gets in on the act.

Scout and Lily (Cody hidden)
Little does she know  that it's her turn next.

For more summery action you need to turn to others at Carmi's Welcome Summer

Nice frog pic, Bob.

I've been trying to get one, but I'm usually with the D.O.G., which makes it tricky.

ALMOST had a pic of a big black bear yesterday morning. The camera was on auto, and couldn't decided whether flash or no. So nothing, and the bear ran away.

Wonderful photos. How did you manage to capture your dogs standing still? The frog photo is perfect.

I think the dogs were too engrossed in the strange smells from the shampoo, Susan. It would be a lot different to their usual smell of water from the lake.

Great picture of the frog, I've never ridden in a hot air ballon, maybe someday.

We all smell so beautiful! ...barked the dogs, however the frog...he may need a bit of soap but then he's just a frog so he can skip the groomers! Lovely bit of old Michigan for me! Yes! Glad you had a wonderful trip, birthday celebration too??? ...and now you're back to home sweet home!

Hi Bob ~~ I am glad that you also could play golf this morning. It was 101F here at noon when we finished.

Toads and frogs taste really bad to dogs. I hope she doesn't ever catch it.

Mrs. Jim and I put a jinx on your weather. Our SIL played a lot of golf and it was warm in the London area until we got there April 11. I has been cool and rainy every day since.

We keep up with London weather, I have a link on my side bar just below the Texas weather. Our daughter works there and she brought the two grandkids and hubby with her.

I also can keep up with it on this WebCam which is near their place:

BTW, it is 5:35 AM there and some are already in the crossing 'playing Beatles.'

I really like the balloon shots - I have never been in the right spot at the right time in order to get pics like these.

Such nice dogs, too!

Love the frog - he's very much greener than our frogs!

And the hot air balloons are lovely - they came over a lot where we used to live. Mr.G went in one - I stayed following it in the car!

We get balloons here a lot in summer, although not so far this year. Maybe business was too slow. Have seen them come pretty close, but not land nearby.
