On 6 August 2009 the USA Postal Service issue the flags of each State in a strip format. I have a coil of 50 stamps with 10 flags repeated 5 times.
I have only included 5 of the 10 as it proved very difficult to stop the coil from curling up before the scanner closed. However I think these are rather splendid.

I love that series of stamps, how interesting to have a roll. I can just imagine your battle with its curl.
ReplyDeleteThese are a pain to scan, aren;t they?
ReplyDeleteI see some feathers and some fencing to add to F.
Hi Bob - they are ... thanks for showing us - they were interesting to see ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI always find flags on stamps interesting. More interesting that in real life, I'm afraid!
ReplyDeleteI have got two or three of this kind.
I must admit I am completely unfamiliar with state flags, but this looks like a very nice series.
ReplyDeleteI assume those are the state animals/birds but am confused as to why Maryland has a red winged blackbird on the stamp instead of a Baltimore oriole.
Splendid they are Bob!
