Washington DC - Sepia Saturday

Statues and buildings figured in a series of shots sent to me by my daughter after a trip she and her husband took to Washington DC.

No cows or bulls on view so you will have to be content with horses and some nude shots instead.

The building I have chosen to show is the US Supreme Court, I believe.

US Supreme Court
I'm glad that I haven't cropped the lamppost off as this hits another part of the theme.

Pillars and roof outside Supreme Court
To get inside the Court there is am impressive entrance door. A then aspiring attorney waits to gain entry.

  1. Love the one with the pillars, that's such an original angle and the composition is superb.

  2. What a pretty daughter! I'm assuming she's the aspiring attorney. Is she now an aspiring Supreme Court Justice?

  6. We really loved Washington - all those museums (oh and statues obviously). I have to say I like the unusual angle on the pillars and roof.

  8. Hi Bob,

These are so fine! I'd love to go back there again someday...my post this week is about our trip there and to the Statue of Liberty.

    Take care,

  9. After seeing Born Yesterday (1950 movie) I added Washington DC to my list of (capital) cities I want to visit some day. It sure looks like a beautiful and interesting city!

  10. Wonderful photos! I suppose it's your daughter we should be congratulating, but the cropper can take credit too. :)

  12. Oh just seeing the Supreme Court makes me shudder. Such an imposing building with such horrendous decisions coming forth. Many of those inside have become a disgrace.

  13. Wonderful post. It's been a few years since I've been to DC, but it's always fun to see it through someone else's eyes. Thanks for sharing!

  14. Congrats to you and your daughter. Great shots. Some of the most amazing film of the Supreme Court were in the latest Dan Brown book/movie The Lost Symbol. I have never been to D.C. Probably won't get there now.

  15. A real world's fair. Appeals and complaints would have more impact if they were nailed to that door too.

  16. Statues, lamp-posts, America - you tick most of the boxes. Now there are doors and there are doors - but that is a door.
