The building I have chosen to show is the US Supreme Court, I believe.

US Supreme Court |
I'm glad that I haven't cropped the lamppost off as this hits another part of the theme.

Pillars and roof outside Supreme Court |
To get inside the Court there is am impressive entrance door. A then aspiring attorney waits to gain entry.

Love the one with the pillars, that's such an original angle and the composition is superb.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty daughter! I'm assuming she's the aspiring attorney. Is she now an aspiring Supreme Court Justice?
ReplyDeleteBarbara
@Barbara - a bit too early yet! At least she a practising attorney now.
ReplyDeleteThese are some great shots that she has taken. I haven't been out there for many years.
ReplyDeleteInteresting angle on the pillars and roof.
ReplyDeleteI liked the pillar shot!
ReplyDeleteWe really loved Washington - all those museums (oh and statues obviously). I have to say I like the unusual angle on the pillars and roof.
ReplyDeletethats A Bloody Big Door! Washington is fine city ,although the Airport (in my experience) is a nightmare of a place!
ReplyDeleteHi Bob,
ReplyDeleteThese are so fine! I'd love to go back there again someday...my post this week is about our trip there and to the Statue of Liberty.
Take care,
Kathy M.
Great photos :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Bob.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing Born Yesterday (1950 movie) I added Washington DC to my list of (capital) cities I want to visit some day. It sure looks like a beautiful and interesting city!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! I suppose it's your daughter we should be congratulating, but the cropper can take credit too. :)
ReplyDeleteI also like the upward pillar shot.
ReplyDeleteOh just seeing the Supreme Court makes me shudder. Such an imposing building with such horrendous decisions coming forth. Many of those inside have become a disgrace.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post. It's been a few years since I've been to DC, but it's always fun to see it through someone else's eyes. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your daughter. Great shots. Some of the most amazing film of the Supreme Court were in the latest Dan Brown book/movie The Lost Symbol. I have never been to D.C. Probably won't get there now.

A real world's fair. Appeals and complaints would have more impact if they were nailed to that door too.
ReplyDeleteStatues, lamp-posts, America - you tick most of the boxes. Now there are doors and there are doors - but that is a door.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Bob, enjoyed looking at the pictures.
ReplyDeletelove those supreme court photos!! i feel i'd have a field day over there.
ReplyDelete:)~
