Softness _ Thematic Photography

As we have had snow for over a week snow seemed to me to be the obvious thing to show. I have to admit that my shot is from two years ago but the view from our front door is much the same today.

Snowy Garden
At this time of year when there are no leaves on the trees the branches look anything but soft. Two weeks ago a frosty morning made them look almost fluffy.

Frost Covering
It always surprises me what you can see from your own front door as these 'softened' trees are behind the house on the opposite side of our lane.

Softness always reminds me of when a TV show The Generation Game was all the rage. Contestants were asked to memorise objects passing before them on a conveyor belt.

Cuddly Toys
Which reminds me that macho dogs can be cuddly sometimes.

Duncan and Cameron at ease
But others always get in on the act.

Duncan (or Cameron) and the Cat
However my favourite shot of all is one sent to us by a delegate from Greenland who attended a training course I led in Denmark some years ago.

Softness personified.
For other soft touches I suggest you float over to Carmi at Thematic-photographic-231.

Wow Bob, you have beat me again! Still have to put mine together too! I had a feeling your gigantic snow fall was an old photo, because haven't you all had a really warm and rather snowless winter so far? I like all these soft photos, of course the dogs and bears warm my heart the most!

The first shot looks like the view from any window in my house right now. We've had more than our fair share of snow this winter. The last shot is my favorite.

The tree is just gorgeous! Your dogs look so glossy and soft too. Nice shots.

First I thought those trees were superb, then I found the dogs...then the cat and dogs....and then the polar bears!!

Can't beat all those, they are gorgeous!

Are they red setters?

@ KarenS - we hav had snow on the ground for over a week now but not as deep as in the photo.

@ Gilly - Yes, the two red setters live in our village; unfortunately only one is still alive. I wrote about them earlier in North Yorkshire Village Dogs - Duncan & Cameron

Hi Bob .. snow is lovely and soft isn't it ... but that tree photo is my favourite - amazing coating ..

The dogs too and the pussy cat enjoying the warmth of underdog! Sorry to see that one has gone to better places ...

Our snow has gone here - but Brighton was swamped in the stuff ... with abandoned vehicles (yes they'd had a football match!) ... 20 miles this way we had none ... and still have green grass ...

Hope yours doesn't impede you too much .. cheers Hilary
