Cartoons - Sunday Stamps

I'm not sure that I succeeded this week but I'll let you be the judge. I even had to resort to Christmas stamps to get any where near.

Great Britain - Christmas 1966
I know this one is much more recent, perhaps someone will tell me the year.

Great Britain - Christmas ??
It would be very appropriate for us as this fellow stands in our garden today.

The only other stamp I could find was an Europa Circus Stamp from 2002.

Krazy Kar - 2002
I hope these meet with approval from others involved at Viridian's Sunday-Stamps-106.

It's funny how issues pass us by, but then as most mail received doesn't have stamps any more, perhaps it's not so surprising. Of these, I must have been away for the snowman Christmas and I missed the circus, which is a very good design.

These are by far one of my most favorite of your stamp posts. It touches the girl inside of me, and my heart has belonged to snowmen, for years! How incredible this post is, Bob!!!

Love your stamps, these are great. Your first stamp reminds me of a drawing made by my nephew.

Some of our Canadian Christmas stamps aren't bad, but sometimes they look as though they have been designed by someone with a bad hangover.

Love these.

Nice stamps, Bob. I like quite like the 1966 Christmas stamp with the bold panels of red and blue. Very fun.

I love that Krazy Kar and its psychedelic wheels, sadly I missed that one. The snowman is from the Christmas Robins set from 2001. Plenty of snow here today to make a snowman.

Bob, I think you will find the snowman Christmas stamp is from 2001 when there were a number of stamps featuring robins. Did you know the design for the 1966 Christmas stamps were the subject of a Blue Peter (children's TV) competition and both the stamps issued were designed by 6 year old children? Love your snowman by the way.

Once more Royal Mail leaves me 'ahhh'. That snowman stamp is just so cute...the character on the circus one is a bit scary though :)

however, i think all three perfectly match the theme...and thats a cool snowman in your garden..i wish we had some snow over here =/

Isn't it wonderful, the power of stamps to transpose us all back in time. I am not even aware of noticing some of those you illustrate on envelopes, nut they greet me like old friends - especially that first one.
